Climbers rescued (11/09/09)

At 730pm on Friday 11th September Mountain Rescue Teams were called on by the Gardai to respond to an incident in the Glendalough valley. Two climbers, who were climbing on the upper cliffs in Glendalough, had requested the assistance of Mountain Rescue when one of the pair took a fall whilst lead climbing. The Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team, responded quickly and established phone communications with the pair. They were in good spirits with only minor injuries and were able to abseil down the cliffs themselves. A Mountain Rescue Party met the climbers and ensured their safe return to the valley floor.

The Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team extends its thanks to the other agencies involved; The Dublin/Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and the Gardaí.
