Spinc Rescue(14/04/12)
Today, Saturday 14th April 2012, at approx. 10.30pm Mountain Rescue Teams in Wicklow were called to assist with the transporting of an injured adventure racer in Glendalough near the Miner’s Village. The 38-year old had fallen while descending the zig-zag section of the Spinc route and had injured her lower leg. Irish Red Cross personnel were attending the event and were at hand to treat the race participant, but needed further assistance with the stretcher-carry.
The woman was brought safely to an awaiting Eastern Region Health Board ambulance by approx 12.15pm, and was then taken to hospital for further treatment.
Many thanks to all who attended the scene and assisted in this successful operation.
