Great Sugarloaf Rescue 15/09/14
- At approximately 11.44hrs on Monday the 15th of September both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by the HSE to come to the assistance of a woman in her 50’s who had suffered a lower leg injury while out walking with her family on the Great Sugarloaf. Mountain Rescue personnel assisted HSE Paramedics who were treating the woman on scene. Once the woman was ready to be moved and had been placed in a vacuum mattress and secured in an MR stretcher she was carried down from the mountain to a waiting HSE ambulance. At this point she was then transported to hospital for definitive care.
