Call Out 01: Djouce Rescue 11/01/15
On Sunday the 11th of January at approx 15.10hrs both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Siochana to come to the assistance of a male in his late twenties who had suffered a lower leg injury while descending Djouce Mountain with his friends.
Rescue Base was established at Long Hill car park. His location was confirmed by the use of SARLOC and an MR party was dispatched. The causality had moved from his previous location by the time the MR hill party reached his last known point but he was soon located. After treating his injury he was stretchered to a waiting MR 4×4 which transported him to Crone Wood car park where he was reunited with his friends. No further action was taken and both teams were stood down at 18.30hrs.
