Call Out 05: Lough Firrib Rescue 08/02/15
At approx 12:30pm on Sunday 8th Feb, Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked to come to the assistance of a Male Hill Walker in his 50’s who had suffered a knee injury in the Lough Firrib area.
Rescue Base was established at Turlough Hill and a hasty party was dispatched to the walkers location. Mountain Rescue medics treated the casualty at the scene and a stretcher party
evacuated him to Turlough Hill where he was met by his Family and transported to further care.
Thank you to the HSE for providing assistance and to all MR personnel who responded.
The incident was stood down at 15:15.
