Call Out 08: Miner’s Village Rescue 15/02/15
At approximately 13.20 on February 15th, the Glen Of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Siochana to come to the aid of a lady who had been injured while descending the zig zag track near the Miner’s Village in Wicklow.
The lady had been out walking with friends and was descending the track when the accident happened resulting in a lower leg injury. Mountain Rescue personnel were quick to respond and set up Rescue Base at the Miner’s Village. Hasty teams were sent out to administer initial treatment before further personnel could join them to assist with the short stretcher carry back to Rescue Base. Other MR personnel escorted an HSE Ambulance to the scene where the injured walker could be transferred to their care for transport to hospital and further treatment.
The incident was stood down at 15:10
