Call Out 10: Tonelagee Search 15/02/15
Later on Sunday the 15th of February at approx 18.43hrs both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Siochana to search for a Hill Walker who had become disorientated while out walking a route which he started at Glenmacnass. The man became disorientated while descending from the summit of Tonalegee.
He raised the alarm via his mobile phone. MR personnel were able to keep in contact with him during the search but were unable to use SARLOC to locate his position. The man could see a road in the distance so MR 4×4’s where dispatched with blue lights activated, along the roads they suspected he could most likely see from his position. He was eventually located in a wooded area near Annalecky Bridge and brought to safety. The operation was stood down at approx 21.15hrs.
Mountain Rescue would like to thank all involved in what proved to be a very busy weekend for both teams
