Call Out 41: Lugnaquilla Search 09/08/15
On Sunday the 9th of August at about 20:20 both the Glen Of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Siochanna to come to the assistance of two men who had become lost while descending Lugnaquilla.
The pair had ascended from the Glenmalure side but got disorientated in bad visibility on the descent and called for help. Despite the time both teams had a strong response but as communications were intermittent it was difficult to establish the location of the two hillwalkers. Hill parties were sent out in several areas looking for the two men. Luckily they managed to follow a track and were met on the road by a passing MR vehicle near Aughavanagh and brought to safety.
