Call Out 46: Lugnaquilla Search 24/08/15
At approximately 20.00hrs on August 24th both the Glen Of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Siochanna to help a woman who had become disorientated while descending Lugnaquilla in Wicklow.
Initial information suggested the woman was still close to the summit so while both teams were mobilising the Coastguard helicopter was also tasked.
Rescue Base was established at Barravore and Sarloc was used to pinpoint where the woman was. A Hasty Party was on route to her when the Coastguard arrived and airlifted her. She was then brought to hospital for treatment and the incident was stood down at 22.10hrs
