Call Out 57: Dublin Mountain Search 17/10/15
At approximately 12.00hrs on October 17th both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team became aware of a search for a missing person in the Stepaside-Kiltiernan area and after contacting the local Gardai received an official tasking to assist with the search.
The missing teenager had gone camping the previous Tuesday and as he had not returned a search was initiated. Mountain Rescue personnel assisted the Gardai with the search planning as well as deploying several searchers on foot and in vehicles to high priority areas. The Garda Dog Unit and Garda Helicopter were also involved in the search.
The search was postponed for the evening and was due to restart the following morning but thankfully the youth was found safe and well later that evening and the incident was stood down at 9pm.
Mountain Rescue would like to thank all agencies involved.
