Call out 51: Lugnaquilla Rescue 20/08/16
At approximately 18.00hrs on Saturday August 20th both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue team and the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Siochana to come to the assistance of a man who had become disoriented while trying to descend from the summit of Lugnaquilla.
The man was after making a few unsuccessful attempts to find his way down in poor visibility conditions and decided to call for assistance. He then made his way back to the summit to await MR personnel.A Mountain Rescue hill party were sent to his location. They then escorted him down off the hill and transported him to safety.
The operation was stood down at 21.05hrs
