Callout 58, 3Rock, Dublin, 12/07/2018
At 16:30hrs Thursday 12th July 2018, The Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Síochána (AGS) to assist National Ambulance Service (NAS) at an incident in Ticknock.
NAS, along with Wicklow Rapid Response (WWRR), and mountain rescue (MR) responded when a mountain biker fell near a tarmac road on Three Rock Mountain. Working together, the WWRR doctor, an MR advanced paramedic, and the NAS ambulance crew treated the biker, before evacuation to hospital in a waiting ambulance. Thanks to NAS and WWRR for their assistance. The incident was stood down at 16:40hrs.
Callout 59, Crone Wood, Wicklow 14/07/2018
At 12:14hrs Saturday 15th July, 2018, The Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Síochána to assist a woman who had become faint above Powerscourt Waterfall.
The woman in her sixties, who had been walking with friends, began feeling unwell and faint. HSE paramedics hiked into the causality site and assessed the woman who was suffering from suspected heat exhaustion and monitored her condition. MR personnel transported the woman and paramedics back to the ambulance in Crone Carpark. The incident was stood down at 13:20hrs.
At 13:27hrs while debriefing the Crone callout another call came in from AGS, this time to assist a woman who had collapsed due to suspected heat exhaustion near Lacken.
The woman in her sixties had been walking with her husband in the forestry behind Lacken when she had collapsed. Their location was determined through SARLOC technology. The woman was assessed by the HSE Advanced Paramedic and transported by MR vehicles back to the car park where the woman was transferred to the ambulance and taken to hospital for further care. The incident was stood down at 14:37hrs
Callout 61, Lugnaquilla, Wicklow 15/07/2018
At 15:15hrs on Sunday 15th July 2018, The Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Síochána to assist a group of walkers who had become separated from one of their party.
While descending from the summit of Lugnaquilla the woman had become separated from the rest of the walking group. She was located using SARLOC Technology, in the Ow Valley. She was met by MR personnel and transported back to the Glen of Imaal to the rest of her group. The incident was stood down at 17:07hrs.
