Woman Rescued in Freezing Conditions(25/11/08)
The Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin/Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were called to aid of an injured hill walker on The Spink Mountain in Glendalough at 14:30 this afternoon, Saturday 29th November.
Mountain Rescue personnel reached the injured woman quickly, administered first aid and made the casualty as comfortable as possible in extremely cold weather conditions.
The boardwalk on The Spink was frozen, icy and hazardous, but with Coastguard and Air Corps helicopters unable to assist due to fog, Mountain Rescue personnel undertook a long stretcher carry out to an awaiting ERHA ambulance.
